Frequency Specific Microcurrent

What is Frequency-Specific Microcurrent Therapy (FSM)?

The goal of FSM is to introduce a vibrational frequency into the damaged tissue. Trauma to the tissue suppresses the electrical potential of the cell, diminishing the healing process. FSM includes a micro current that is applied to the injured tissue which helps support natural current flow in the tissue allowing cells in the fascia to regain their electric charge and reestablish normal cellular function. The speed of recovery varies according to the patient and the extent of tissue damage.

What are the advantanges?

  • Increase in cellular activity due to greater production of ATP
  • Increase protein synthesis
  • Release toxins from damaged tissues
  • Enhances tissue recovery
  • Stimulates lymphatic flow
  • Decrease amount of scar tissue
  • Reduces swelling and inflammation
  • Improve motion
  • Pain relief

Are there any potential side-effects?

  • Nausea
  • Muscle fatigue
  • Drowsiness
  • Temporary increase in pain

* The potential to experience pain after FMS can be accounted by reestablishing brain-todamaged- tissue communication pathway which is important to help jump start the healing process

What are the contraindications or limitations of FSM?

  • Pregnancy
  • Pacemaker
  • Implanted metal plates or artificial joints

* please notify our staff if you have or suspect you have any of the noted contraindications
